Meet Kamola
Kamola joined Coded by: as a development intern this year, eager to expand her coding skills. After an “adventurous” summer, she is excited to complete her undergraduate degree in Computing & Security Technology, crediting Coded by: for giving her the skills needed to succeed as a first year in college.

What is a skill you gained over the summer?
Definitely web development skills. I had experience with Python, HTML, and CSS before but I got much deeper into them and learned JavaScript in addition to them. I also learned how to call API functions and connect them with the user interface which was really cool.
What growth have you seen in yourself since coming to Coded by?
Before I came [to Coded by:], I thought I was a problem solver/critical thinker when coding. However, after several projects, I truly believe I gained critical thinking skills through my mistakes, feedback, and implementation. I also learned how to use my resources in the correct way.
What’s next for you?
[This internship] gave me a more clear direction to my career goals. I want to complete my undergraduate [in Computing & Security Technology at Drexel] and work as a security analyst. I believe I’ll put my coding skills and the problem solving skills I gained into use in college.
